UN Conference Endorses Battle Plan for HIV/AIDS

United Nations—Two decades after the first reports of the emergence of HIV/AIDS, delegates to the United Nations (UN) General Assembly approved a sweeping plan to battle the pandemic that has already claimed the lives of 22 million people worldwide.

Some 3000 government officials, nongovernmental organizations, drug company executives, and others gathered at the UN to set a global agenda for tackling the disease.
