- John P. McGovern, MD, a physician, educator, and philanthropist who resides in Houston, Tex, has become a member of the Founder's Circle of the National Health Museum in Washington, DC.
- J. Richard Gaintner, MD, has been named interim executive vice president for health sciences at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, DC. He was preciously CEO of Shands HealthCare, an affiliate of the University of Florida's Health Science Center.
- David R. Nielsen, MD, consultant in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz, has been named executive vice president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and its Foundation, both in Alexandria, Va. He will succeed G. Richard Holt, MD, MPH, on July 1.
