Pediatric Dermatology is an important treatise, now in its third edition and again edited by Professors Lawrence A. Schachner and Ronald C. Hansen, with the addition of five associate editors: Rudolf Happle, Bernice R. Krafchik, Anne W. Lucky, Amy S. Paller, and Maureen Rogers. Since the first edition in 1988, it has been a top pediatric dermatology text. The new edition lives up to and advances the standards set by the previous two.

In a single massive volume of 1340 pages with almost 1800 full-color clinical illustrations, superb tables, and comfortably useful same-page referencing, this multiauthored text has added 52 new authors, many from Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa. I have read other pediatric dermatology books, including the recent two-volume European pediatric dermatology treatise by Miklaszewska and Wasik, but this new edition surpasses that and other fine pediatric dermatology efforts.
