In Reply: Drs Casale and van Wijk state that neither the AAAAI nor the EAACI specifically endorsed the PRACTALL consensus report. Although I do not disagree, I note that the PRACTALL EAACI/AAAAI consensus report pocket guide ("Diagnosis and treatment of asthma in childhood"),1 available on the EAACI Web site, features the logos of both academies. The guide cites both academies endorsing the PRACTALL initiative, of which the consensus report is a part. In addition, a press release from the EAACI ("Europe and US together against childhood asthma")2 announced the publication of the consensus report. In the press release, Nikos Papadopoulos, vice president of the EAACI, was quoted: "Guidelines for childhood asthma were a major unmet need. It is fortunate that a consensus of a wide panel of international experts was reached. We are now looking forward to the results of the implementation."
