Richard A. Damon, MD
Beaver Dam, Wis

JAMA. 1990;263(4):516.

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 150 words of the full text PDF and any section headings.

To the Editor.—

With reference to the article "General Recommendations on Immunization,"1 we note that the recommended schedule indicates that the measles, mumps, and rubella and diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccines can be given together at 15 months of age. Merck Sharp & Dohme publish in their package insert for MMR II that "routine administration of DTP [diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine] and/or OPV [oral polio vaccine] concomitantly with measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine is not recommended because there are insufficient data relating to the simultaneous administration of these antigens."

Please clarify the recommendations in regard to which advice should be followed. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
